Custom Jackets

What Makes a Jacket Suitable for Work?

Custom jackets are outerwear garments personalised with a company logo, team identity, text or design using a suitable printing or embroidery method.

For workwear, the jacket underneath the branding matters just as much. Someone spending most of the day outside will have different priorities from a warehouse team or customer-facing staff who only need an extra layer now and then.

Our range of work jackets includes options for trades, logistics, hospitality, events, field teams and general company uniforms. You can choose personalised work jackets for practical day-to-day use or smarter company-branded jackets where appearance carries more weight.

Weather protection, warmth, movement and fit are worth sorting first. The logo comes afterwards.

Which Type of Work Jacket Is Best for Different Weather Conditions?

One jacket won't suit every forecast or every job. The useful bit is knowing what each type is actually good at.

High

Events, logistics, hospitality and mobile teams

A waterproof jacket should have a stated level of protection against rain. Water-resistant styles offer lighter protection and shouldn't automatically be treated as substitutes for proper wet-weather outerwear.

Softshells are popular for a different reason. They tend to feel less bulky and give active staff more freedom to move, although weather resistance varies between garments.

For colder jobs, padding or insulation may matter more than outright waterproofing. In milder conditions, a lightweight jacket can be easier to live with all day.

Is Printing or Embroidery Better for Custom Jackets?

Neither method wins by default. Jackets come in far more fabrics and constructions than a standard T-shirt, so the garment has a big say in what will work.

Printed Jackets

Embroidered Jackets

Appearance

Smooth finish with scope for detailed artwork

Textured, stitched finish

Durability

Strong when the correct method is used

Very durable on suitable garments

Fine Detail

Good for detailed or multicolour designs

Best for artwork that translates cleanly into stitches

Logo Size

Often better for larger designs

Usually better for smaller or medium-sized logos

Garment Compatibility

Depends heavily on fabric and coatings

Requires suitable fabric and access for stitching

Technical Fabrics

Some coatings can restrict suitable print methods

Waterproof layers and insulation may need extra consideration

Cost at Scale

Some methods become more economical on larger runs

Influenced by logo size and stitch count

Embroidery is often chosen for branded work jackets because it gives suitable garments a smart, stitched finish. Print comes into its own with larger artwork, multiple colours or finer detail.

Technical outerwear needs a bit more care. Waterproof coatings, insulation, seams, zips and pockets can rule out otherwise obvious logo positions or decoration methods. We'll look at the jacket and artwork together before deciding what goes where.

Which Jacket Features Matter Most for Workwear?

Start with the working day. If staff are outside for hours at a time, weather protection and warmth deserve attention. A team constantly lifting, bending or getting in and out of vehicles may care more about movement and breathability. Pockets, cuffs, hoods and room for layers sound like small details until somebody has to wear the jacket eight hours a day.

The brand can matter too, particularly if you're building a uniform that will need replenishing later.

The current range includes established names such as Stormtech, Tee Jays, Result, TriDri, SOL'S, Nimbus and Stanley/Stella, covering lightweight outerwear, softshells, padded jackets and more technical designs.

For dedicated workwear, Orn supplies softshells, parkas and practical work jackets. Regatta Professional covers options including hybrid, insulated and waterproof styles, while Portwest offers a broad choice of general and specialist workwear jackets.

The benefit of sticking with a recognised style becomes obvious when somebody joins the team six months later. Reordering the same garment is considerably easier than trying to match an old uniform by eye.

How Do You Choose the Right Personalised Work Jacket?

Before you order, work through the things that will actually affect the wearer:

  • Working environment: Think about how much time is spent indoors, outdoors or moving between the two
  • Weather exposure: Decide whether you need waterproofing, lighter water resistance or mainly protection from wind
  • Warmth: Consider the season, workplace temperature and how physically active the job is
  • Breathability: Useful for active staff who will be wearing the jacket for long periods
  • Movement: Softshell and stretch styles may suit physical roles better than bulkier outerwear
  • Layering: Allow room for the polo, sweatshirt or other workwear underneath
  • Jacket type: Different departments don't necessarily need the same outerwear
  • Fit and sizing: Staff still need to be comfortable once they're moving around
  • Decoration: The jacket fabric and construction can affect print and embroidery choices
  • Logo position: Zips, seams and pockets may limit the available space
  • Budget and quantity: Compare the cost of the garment and decorations together

Outdoor trades often put warmth and weather protection first. Logistics teams may prefer something lighter that doesn't get in the way. For hospitality, retail or other customer-facing roles, a cleaner, smarter style may be the better fit.

Event teams are another case again. A jacket that's easy to layer, pack and hand out across mixed sizes can be more useful than the heaviest option available.

Why Choose Company-Branded Jackets for Work Uniforms?

Once the coats go on, the rest of the uniform largely disappears. Branding the outer layer keeps staff identifiable on site, at customer premises and when they're working in public.

It also means you don't have to force the same jacket onto every role. Different teams can wear outerwear that suits their job while keeping colours and company branding consistent.

Company-branded jackets are commonly used across:

  • Construction and trades
  • Warehousing and logistics
  • Facilities management
  • Hospitality
  • Retail
  • Field service teams
  • Events and promotions
  • Outdoor operations

Think about what's worn underneath too. Jackets can sit over hoodies, polos, T-shirts or sweatshirts as the weather changes.

For days when a full jacket is more than you need, personalised fleeces offer another layering option.

Stock, artwork approval, quantity, garment construction and decoration method can all affect timing. For larger orders, we can also help sort sizing and jacket choice before production starts.

Why Order Custom Jackets From The Funky Peach?

The Funky Peach has been personalising clothing since 2010. Our approach is summed up pretty neatly by Internet Prices, High Street Service.

In other words, you can order online without being left to untangle sizing, artwork and decoration options on your own. Printing and embroidery are handled in-house, with the team available to help before and after you order.

Orders start from one garment where applicable. Larger quantities can bring more competitive garment and decoration pricing, and repeat orders are straightforward when staff join, uniforms need replacing or another team needs kitting out.

FAQs: Custom Jackets

Are Custom Jackets Suitable for Work Uniforms?

Yes, provided the jacket suits the job.

Think about the working environment, exposure to bad weather, how much movement the role involves and what staff will wear underneath. Outdoor teams may need waterproofing or insulation, whereas staff spending more time indoors may prefer something lighter.

Are Waterproof and Water-Resistant Jackets the Same?

No. Waterproof and water-resistant describe different levels of weather protection.

A waterproof jacket should have a defined level of resistance to rain based on its individual specification and construction. Water-resistant outerwear is intended for lighter exposure and shouldn't automatically be relied on for prolonged wet conditions.

Check the individual product details before choosing.

Is Printing or Embroidery Better for Jackets?

That depends on the jacket and the artwork.

Embroidery works well on suitable garments when you want a stitched finish. Printing may be the better option for larger, more detailed or multicolour designs.

Technical coatings, insulation, fabric type and logo position can all affect the final choice.

Can You Add My Company Logo to a Work Jacket?

Yes. Many of our work jackets can be personalised with a company logo, text or other artwork.

The available decoration method and position vary by garment. Pockets, seams, zips, insulation and weather-resistant fabrics all need to be taken into account.

Can I Order Personalised Work Jackets in Bulk?

Yes. We can supply larger orders for businesses and teams, including mixed sizes.

Decoration pricing can become more competitive as quantities increase, so speak to The Funky Peach if you're planning a larger uniform rollout.

Is There a Minimum Order Quantity?

Orders start from one garment where the selected jacket supports personalisation.

That also makes it easier to replace an individual jacket or order for a new starter without placing another full team order.

How Long Do Personalised Jackets Take to Produce?

Standard turnaround for printed and embroidered jackets is 10 working days from payment.

Express production is available on suitable orders at 7 working days. Stock availability, artwork approval, quantity, garment construction and decoration method can all affect the final timing.

Where Can a Logo Be Placed on a Jacket?

The chest, sleeve and back are common options on suitable jackets.

Exact placement comes down to the garment. Outerwear often has zips, pockets, seams, panels and insulation occupying the obvious spaces, so we'll confirm what works before production rather than leave your logo wrestling with a pocket.
